There is no exact information about the construction date of the mosque. It is known that it was built before 1595 and underwent a recent repair. It is known that the person who built the mosque was a commander who was Alaybeyi. Beautiful examples of cut stone workmanship are observed in the mosque.
Alaybey Mosque is an impressive Ottoman work reflecting the historical texture of Gaziantep, known to have been built before 1595 and repaired in 1224 Hijri. It features remarkable stone craftsmanship, a cross-vaulted entrance resting on three supports, a polygonal body, and a simple yet elegant architecture with a single minaret.
