Historical Site
It was built in 1173 in the name of Patriarch St Nerses in Rumkale. The church, which was used as a catholicosate office by Armenians from 1113 to 1292, was converted into a mosque during the Mamluk period.
The Church of Saint Nerses, located at the Rumkale archaeological site in Gaziantep, was built in 1173 by the poet Saint Nerses and constructed with Gothic influences.
