Caravanserai
Hışva Han, which has been restored in accordance with its original form by Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality, started serving as a hotel-restaurant-shop in August 2016. The restaurant section of Hışvahan, which represents Gaziantep's culinary culture in all categories of dishes at national and international competitions, has succeeded in reaching thousands of people with the recipes and flavors it learned from its ancestors and still strives to preserve. In both the accommodation and restaurant sections of Hışvahan, it is possible to see the stones, marbles, coppers, and mother-of-pearl inlay handicrafts that are specially used in Gaziantep's home-making. This inn, which serves as an example of carefully preserving and developing cultural heritage, hosts thousands of guests every year. Its location, directly opposite Gaziantep Castle and on the cultural route of the historical bazaar, makes the inn even more attractive.
Hışva Han, also known as Pamuk Kozası or Lala Mustafa Paşa Hanı, is built at the foot of Gaziantep Castle, on Handan Bey Street. The inn forms the central structure of the complex. It was constructed adjacent to the western wall of the hamam and Susamhan, which are among the buildings that make up the complex. It is known that the Bedesten and Mir-i Miran Mosque, which are part of the complex, are located to the east of the inn and were destroyed during the War of Independence.
