Mosque
Located in Tepebaşı Neighborhood, this structure was built as a church in 1892. The Valide Meryem Church (St. Mary), which was converted into a mosque, is named Kurtuluş Camii. The mosque has 5 doors; two open to the north, two to the south, and the main door opens to the west. The church's bell was made in Brazil by an Armenian named Hirant Köşkeryan, who lived in London. This one-ton bell is preserved in the Gaziantep Museum. The bell tower of the building used as a mosque has been arranged as a minaret.
Originally built as a church in 1892, the mosque was previously used as a church and a prison. Kurtuluş Cami, which has lost none of its former glory like a treasure of history, is one of the largest mosques in Gaziantep.
