Mosque
Also known as the 'Two Minaret Mosque' due to its two-balconied minaret, it is understood from existing documents that it was built by Şirvani Mehmet Efendi before 1677. According to legend, Şirvani Seyit Mehmet Efendi is a descendant of Hz. Muhammad's grandson Hz. Hüseyin. The mosque features a room where dervishes used to recite, a muezzin's platform adorned with beautiful examples of woodwork, and a minbar that can be accessed through a specially made section in the wall with a sliding mechanism.
Şirvani (Şirvani Mehmet Efendi) Mosque, located west of Gaziantep Castle, was built by Şirvani Mehmet Efendi before 1677 and is popularly known as the 'Two Minaret Mosque'; it is an important place of worship that stands out in the city both aesthetically and historically with its woodwork, dervish room, and sliding minbar.
